Where Cuisine Meets Art at the House of Balawi
This is not simply decor, it is storytelling through space. Balawi is not just a place to dine, it is an immersive journey through flavour, architecture and heritage, designed to reflect the soul of the Levant and the elegance of Gulf hospitality.
The first thing that strikes you is the grandeur of the design. Inspired by Andalusian halls and Levantine courtyards, our interiors are rich with hand-painted detail, ornate lanterns and flowing water features that lend a calming rhythm to the room. Every space tells a different story, from the banquet halls to the open terraces.
Hospitality at Balawi is tailored. Guests are welcomed with rosewater mist and warm towels, and our team guides you through the menu, suggesting dishes to suit your preferences and dietary needs. Dining here feels more like being hosted in a private house than visiting a restaurant.
The kitchen honours ancient recipes while refining them for the modern palate. Ingredients are sourced locally and regionally and are presented with care and artistry. Signature selections include fattet makdous with spiced yogurt and clarified butter, grilled whole seabass with lemon and sumac, and spiced kofta prepared over charcoal.
Beyond dining, Balawi is a cultural venue. The house hosts live oud performances, Arabic calligraphy showcases and festive gatherings during Ramadan and Eid, and its private spaces are made for weddings, corporate evenings and family celebrations.
